A Brief History of IBC College
The history of how IBC College was founded. From a school of less than 20 students students to a college of more than 300 students presently.

IBC College was founded in 1992 by the late Kali Charles Thaanyane.
He was also the founder of many other successful establishments, including Kay-Ceey’s restaurant and was elected an associate member of the South African based Institute of Marketing Management (IMM). He was the first Chartered Marketer to emerge from Lesotho, and one of the few within the SADC region.
His business career was preceding by more than 15 years as a manager at senior executive levels with major corporations such as OK-Bazaars, Caltex Oil RSA, British Petroleum, Shell Oil company and Mobile Oil company.
He was a board member on many Lesotho corporations including, the local licensing board where he represented the Lesotho Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a board member for Technical and Vocational Training under the Ministry of Education and Training. He was a leading marketing guru and an authority on customer care and change Management. He trained thousands of managers and frontline staff on today’s leading service strategies, change management strategies, business strategy, and strategic marketing management for global competitiveness.
His excellence in leading was spotted by many organizations including the Lesotho Independent Electoral Commission (I.06EC) that nominated him to sit on the panel of National Mediators, and the National of University of Lesotho in collaboration with Kellogg Foundation through leadership Network for Southern Africa (Learn) that selected him as the best candidate with a proven record on leadership.
